Mandala - An Introduction to Leaded Glass

An 8" round beginner lead panel with extensive tips. An expanded how-to section illustrated in full-color covers each step of construction. Also included are a list of tools and materials needed for working in stained glass plus helpful hints on the best ways to use them. This project was constructed using lead.

Hybrid Tea Rose

A 16" square copper foil panel including intricate cuts and reverse-side shading. Roses are done in colored glass as well as in clear seedy that is cream-etched for added detail. The leaves are made more realistic through the careful selection of glass. This project is suitable for advanced glass artists and is constructed using the copper foil technique.

Stained Glass Forged with Fire

A 10" stained glass lampshade that incorporates flameworked floral accents. The three-dimensional border at the base of the dome shade is created from individually lampworked petals and leaves that are formed into flowers, copper foiled and soldered, and added to the lamp border. The flowers could also be used as accents for other glass art. This project is constructed using the copper foil technique.

Tulipa Gesneriana

An 11" x 14" stained glass floral panel. This botanical panel comes alive through the use of streaky and wispy glasses, which are used to add depth and realism to the design. The bulbs and root systems are created with the use of copper foil overlay, and the project is constructed using the copper foil technique.

Southern Magnolias

A 10" x 7" stained glass floral panel. The color selected for the leaves closely resembles the leathery look of the magnolia, while the soft, creamy petals of the blossoms are recreated through the use of a champagne/opal glass. A 13-3/4" x 10-1/2" grouted mosaic serving tray. The focal points of the design are cut from scrap glass and the sky-and-grass background pieces are made by nipping small pieces from glass strips. All are set in a wooden tray and finished with colored grout.
