Bastet, Egyptian Cat Goddess

An 8" x 11‑1/2" stained glass panel featuring the sleek and stately Egyptian cat goddess, Bastet. Fire Sticks, fusible iridescent glass, and dichroic eye accents are fused in the kiln and added to the stained glass. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.

Celtic Salmon

A 15‑3/4" x 19‑1/2" stained glass design featuring two multicolored salmon intertwined in a Celtic knot. A jig is constructed to help ensure right angles for the panel, and zinc U-came is used to create a frame for the design. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.

A 5" x 7" fused glass panel that provides an introduction to drawing with a painterly approach using 90 COE glass powders and frit. The tree trunk and branches are drawn freehand using heavy cardstock to move the glass powder into the correct shapes. Various colors and sizes of frit complete the scene.

Moose Lake

A 14" x 36" stained glass panel featuring a moose and wilderness landscape against a cloud-laced sky. Careful glass color and grain selection adds realism to the design. Tips are included for making the moose’s eye come to life. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.

Sparkle Mountains 3-D Fused Glass Panel
Design, Fabrication, and Text by Lori Hudson
An 8" x 10" fused glass project using three-layer base glass plus a multicolored pattern bar made from scrap glass. The pattern bar is cut into sections and arranged on the base glass to give the appearance of mountains. Firing schedules are provided for the pattern bar and contour fusing.

Mission Style Crow

A 12" x 12" stained glass panel featuring a crow holding a sparkling jewel in its mouth against an austere moon and dark, wispy sky. The jewel can be created using scrap glass, a nugget, or an actual beveled jewel. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.

Ski Retreat

A 28" x 20" stained glass panel with a cozy cabin amid drifts of snow set against a winter sky. Careful glass color and grain selection helps to create a realistic, uniform look for the cabin siding when cut with a strip cutter. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.

Gray Wolf

An 18" x 18" stained glass panel depicting the majestic look of the gray wolf. Various shades of gray for the wolf’s coat add depth to the design. The steely look in the animal’s eyes is created with silvery yellow glass. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.

Bear Luminary

A fused and slumped glass project made in three parts that are glued together to form a candle shelter. The mountains and trees are slumped in the opposite direction from the bear and foreground to form a circular piece around the candle. Fusing schedules plus tips for ensuring success are provided.

Fused Mosaic Radiant Heart
Design, Fabrication, and Text by Cherie Bosela
A 6" x 6" panel with a center fuchsia, turquoise, and lavender mosaic heart. Stringers and frit are added to the base hearts and fired. A background of turquoise glass rays and rolls of epoxy modeling compound are added to complete the design before applying the grout to finish the mosaic.

Day Meets Dusk in the Wilderness
Design, Fabrication, and Text by Roz Stanton
A three-dimensional design featuring a wolf against a background of mountains and rocks made from Glass Tattoo Goo. The rocks are fired in the kiln and epoxy is used to attach them to the aluminum wolf stand. Firing schedules are provided for firing the Glass Tattoo Goo and fusing the two-layer glass background.

The Decal Advantage
Design, Fabrication, and Text by Susan McGarry
A fused triangular glass pendant decorated with water slide decals. A 3" x 3" piece of white fusible 90 or 96 COE glass is cut diagonally into triangles and fused together. Decals are then added to the glass, which is fired again before adding the bail. Firing schedules are provided.

Mica Magic

Tips for using mica powder to add sparkle to fused glass projects. Safety issues are covered along with variables that affect how mica reacts when used in glass art. Considerations include color survival issues, how mica colors change when fired, and the use of mica with dichroic or iridescent glass.
