Kaiser Lee LLC has just added a full line of Wissmach Glass Cullet. Cullet is generated when pieces of sheet glass need to be cut to size in order to box it for distribution. The edge “cut-offs” are thrown into a barrel, thus breaking the glass into smaller pieces. Some of the cullet is used as an ingredient in the new mixture for the next furnace load. There is more cullet left, however, than Wissmach can use for the glassmaking process. Since the cullet comes from already tested fusing glass, it provides an affordable way for glass artists to obtain perfect compatible glass for castings, pot melts, vitrigraph stringers, frit making, and many other applications. The cullet is available in all of Wissmach’s 90 and 96 COE colors and comes in convenient five-pound containers. Whittemore-Durgin Glass Company is celebrating 50 years of providing stained glass supplies for glass hobbyists and artisans. The company began in 1965 when an art student came in to the old plate glass company in Quincy, Massachusetts, looking for colored glass for an art project. With that small transaction, the company began to fill the void for amateur glass hobbyists, providing not only supplies but also hard-to-make kits, original patterns for lampshades, windows and suncatchers, and innovative tools, materials, and instructional books. The company quickly expanded to its current 13,000-square-foot location in Rockland, Massachusetts. Operating from the same building since 1971, this family owned company has managed to maintain the look and feel of an old-fashioned hardware store while completely modernizing behind the scenes with an advanced computer system and a comprehensive e-commerce website. The store is unique, unconventional, and fun to browse, and offers visitors a way to step back in time.  800‑262‑1790   This email address is being protected from spambots. Evenheat Kiln
introduces the new Load-n-Go Bead Annealing Process that is now featured on the company’s Fishbone Bead Annealer. This process allows you to make glass beads at your own pace, knowing that they will all receive the proper annealing sequence. A “load” portion is added to the program that simply holds the annealing temperature for up to two hours, during which the Fishbone annealer waits patiently for you to create your beads and load them into the annealing chamber. Once you have created all of your beads and placed them into the Fishbone, only then does the Load-n-Go run the actual glass bead annealing process using the company’s professionally developed anneal settings. Load-n-Go guarantees that all of your glass beads will be perfectly annealed every time.  989‑856‑2281

Diamond Tech presents the Powder Vibe, a vibrating pen that assists glass artists in their pursuit to paint and draw on glass. Much of Powder Vibe’s magic and success comes from the directness of the tops and the sleek body, and was introduced by Bearfoot Tools in 2008. The goal then was to create a battery powered equivalent of a pen, pencil, or paintbrush so artists could sketch or paint directly on glass. This new and improved stylus does just that. Simply apply pressure to the touch strip located in the side of the Vibe barrel to activate the vibrations, which release glass frit, powder, or enamels through a tiny opening on the tip. Quickly tap on the touch strip to dispense the content in the shape of dots and hold the touch strip down to form long strokes, lines, and curves. The Vibe comes with one standard tip, and additional tips and storage systems are available. 800‑937‑9593   813‑806‑2923

Diamond Tech provides a way for artists to make fast, easy, and accurate straight-line cuts, duplicate strips, and perfect circles with the Studio Pro Strip/Circle Maker. This unique dual purpose tool can be used with craft knives, marking pens, and pencils as well as glass cutters, making it an indispensible tool for design and construction. A rigid metal measuring bar with precise laser engraved markings provides accurate measurements to 1/16", and it’s also calibrated with metric engravings accurate to 1 mm. The strip base, circle base, and utility holder are made from high-impact plastics for accuracy and a longer life. Artists and crafters can use the edge of the material as a guide due to a unique strip base design that works on raised-edge work surfaces. The three-pronged circle-making base also makes it easy to see and center circles, and its floating action means better performance on uneven surfaces. Nonskid pads on the circle base keep it securely in place while marking or cutting.

Randy and Carole Wardell present the new B303 Drop-Thru Mold Forming Bundle. Artists can now create a dramatic footed vase using this three-piece drop-thru mold forming system that automatically aligns the drop to the center of a wineglass-style foot. The mold enables fusers to create a delicate vase shape in a kiln that is remarkably similar to vessels made using traditional glassblowing techniques. The system is formed from three components. The C100 Foot Casting Mold is used to create a 2‑7/8"‑diameter x 1/4"‑thick cast glass foot using small pieces of scrap glass. The DT300 Tripod Base supports the Drop-Thru Ring as it holds and centers the cast foot disk. The DT305 Fluted Drop-Thru Ring shapes the vase and guides the drop onto the cast foot disk. Turning the ring one-third revolution will position it at one of three different levels to produce three distinctly different vase heights. Find this and other fusing products at the Wardell Joy of Fusing website.
